About Eilam Ilan

It was almost 30 years ago that my father gave me my grandpa's old camera (a fantastic and incredibly sharp German machine) and in doing so introduced me not only to photography, but also to a life-long love of the visual.

Like most passions, photography has been a love/hate relationship - with periods of constant shooting alongside months of silence. The recent years, however, have been  full of love and I find myself yearning to capture more of what life has to offer us.

Much of my work is about grasping a moment that will never happen again. It is diverse and includes urban landscapes, action/sports, documentary and street scenes. It's about taking in different perspectives when looking at the ordinary and approaching a subject from a unique angle that captures the emotion in the scene.

Unexpected Perspectives:
How many times were you impressed by an image but not moved by it? A truly moving photograph conveys emotion, shows a different perspective and is a bit unusual.

Sometimes all that is needed is to be in the right place at the right time, and to have someone with that special eye who can show the familiar in a different light.
